Our editorial process
TurtleBar publishes short news stories about official Apple changes that affect how long a MacBook battery lasts: macOS releases, Low Power Mode and charging features, the battery life Apple states for new models, and battery service. TurtleBar also sells a Mac battery app. The promotion on these pages comes from that publisher and sits in a box marked "From the publisher", apart from the reporting.
Where the facts come from
An automated newsroom monitors a defined set of official Apple sources: Apple Newsroom, product and technical specification pages on apple.com, release notes and articles on support.apple.com, and developer.apple.com. Press coverage and forum posts can point the newsroom to a possible change, but they are only leads, never evidence. A story is published only when an official Apple page supports it, and every story links the pages it relies on.
How a story is written and checked
AI selects candidate changes and drafts each story. Before publication, a separate AI review checks every claim against the official evidence the newsroom fetched. A draft that fails that check, or that lacks enough evidence, is held back. We do not claim that a human journalist reviewed every story.
Dates
A news story shows the day of the source announcement separately from the days we published and last updated our story. A reference page shows the day the official facts were checked instead of an announcement date. Every story also says when its source pages were checked.
Corrections and updates
When a source changes or we find an error, we update the story and record substantive corrections on it, with the date. When a newer story replaces an older one, the older page stays online and points to the latest.
Limits
Coverage is selective: we publish when there is a useful, supported change, not to fill a daily quota. Features, battery life figures and service prices depend on the Mac model, the macOS version and the country. Apple remains the authority on whether something applies to your Mac and on what its battery service costs; check Apple Support for your model.
